The University of South Wales is a public university in Wales, with campuses in Cardiff, Newport, Pontypridd and Dubai. It was formed on 11 April 2013 from the merger of the University of Glamorgan and the University of Wales, Newport. The university is the second largest university in Wales in terms of its student numbers, and offers around 200 courses. The university has four main faculties across its campuses in South Wales.

Entry Requirements
English Language Entry Requirements
Proficiency in the English language is essential and the university recognises the following English language qualifications:
- GCSE pass in English at Grade C or above.
- IELTS with an average overall score of 6.0 with at least 5.5 in each component for undergraduate and most postgraduate study.
- TOEFL IBT minimum score of 80 IBT for undergraduate and most postgraduate courses.
- Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE): exams taken from January 2015 – overall score of 169 with at least 162 in each component for undergraduate and most postgraduate study. Exams taken before January 2015 – Grade C and no less than borderline in each skill for undergraduate and postgraduate.
- Trinity College English Language qualifications: ISE II Distinction or ISE III Pass for undergraduate and most postgraduate courses.
- Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic) with a minimum of 51 points in each element for the majority of undergraduate programmes and for the majority of postgraduate programmes.
Students who do not meet these requirements must look into a number of courses to prepare themselves for academic studies.
